Jade Museum

Shanghai based Archi-Union Architects have recently completed the Jade museum and its exhibition galleries, in the city’s Xuhui district, a conversion from a simple office building. They were required to keep the existing building structure, so developed their concepts around the movement of people around the space.

Archi-Union have based the Museum around a central courtyard space, with more parametric forms defining the spaces, having used the latest CNC technology.

Three elements are an important part of this project; light, geometry and fabrication.
