XVA Art Hotel

The XVA Hotel is Dubai’s best-kept secret. A stylish and peaceful boutique hotel set within the heart of Bastakiya, the XVA has fast become a “must visit” cultural destination for tourists and Dubai locals.

The venue, set in the oldest part of Dubai and one of the city’s cultural centrepoints, occupies a renovated traditional majilis-style building, boasting original architectural motifs, wind towers and three open courtyards. The hotel includes six boutique rooms, designed by well-established designers and artists from the region.

The XVA café and XVA store further contribute to the engaging experience. The café which happens to be Gordon Ramsay’s favourite spot in town, is set in the main hotel courtyard. It serves freshly-prepared vegetarian food including delicious salads, soups and sandwiches. For those with a sweet tooth, we thoroughly recommend the legendary mint lemonade, which is to die for!

The XVA store offers a unique range of jewellery, artworks and crafts all inspired from the region’s richness. Among the current exhibitors at the store are Numa (unique hand-made jewellery, clothing and deco accessories), Gaia&Gino (an award-winning Turkish home accessories brand with quirky, innovative and unusual products), Gu Shup (exquisite handmade handbags created by women in Pakistan!).

Things got even better when the XVA Hotel recently announced it would revive its Movie Nights, where visitors can come and watch old classics or independent movies that would never make their way into Dubai’s blockbuster hungry cinemas.

Somehow after a visit to the XVA Hotel, Dubai feels that little bit less artificial…
